June is National Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Awareness Month, an important time to acknowledge and normalize this often-invisible disability. At Canine Companions, we understand that many veterans live with PTSD, affecting their daily lives. Through our Veterans Initiative program, our service dogs are trained to identify each veteran’s unique stressors and perform tasks that disrupt the escalation of symptoms, improving their quality of life. These tasks may be performed for anxiety, hypervigilance, generalized fear and other PTSD-related symptoms, offering both greater independence and confidence.
We’re thrilled to announce our continued partnership with St. Francis Winery & Vineyards for the fourth consecutive year. This includes extending their “For the Love of Dogs and Great Wine” campaign, which has already raised more than $300,000 so far to support our mission. Thanks to St. Francis, from now until December 31, 2024, for every bottle of St. Francis wine purchased in the U.S., they’ll contribute $1 to Canine Companions, with a total donation of up to $100,000.
Your chance to become a sponsor to these spunky siblings ends June 30! This duo, featured on the live puppy cam from March, is ready to start training to become future service dogs – and they’re waiting for you to join their journeys. As a sponsor, you’ll receive exclusive status updates, a mini plush and other special gifts.
Join the fun at your local DogFest and celebrate the joy dogs bring to our lives. Enjoy an incredible afternoon with fellow dog lovers, participate in fun activities, learn more about service dogs and supporting our cause all at the same time! Registration is free, and fundraising is encouraged for the ultimate experience.
