Celebrate 50 Years of Independence
with a donation today!

Every dollar, every successful service dog team, and every individual who has supported us along the way has brought us to this milestone year, celebrating 50 years of changing lives and building the foundation for the next 50 years.

A man and a woman sit together on a bench outdoors with a dog between them, overlooking a body of water and a bridge in the background. The man is wearing a gray sweater and the woman is in a dark top, smiling at the camera. The dog is a yellow labrador wearing a blue vest.

I continue to believe in the mission. If anything, it’s more exciting than ever. Now, Canine Companions is impacting more and more lives with the best practices in breeding, training and identifying qualified applicants. Every individual who gets access to a service dog is a win. There are a lot more wins ahead.”

A split-image showing two photographs: on the left, a person with long gray hair stands next to a yellow Labrador retriever wearing a service vest, outdoors with greenery in the background. On the right, a younger person wearing a yellow shirt poses with a German shepherd, both wearing service vests, in front of a building with signage. The word "Cherie" is prominently displayed below the left image.

“We felt it was important to teach our children that there’s a lot of diversity in the world. We wanted them to experience that and to teach them about people with disabilities.

Puppy raising shaped who I am today. It taught me perseverance and courage. I learned responsibility and compassion.”
