8-year-old Evan experienced a stroke due to a lack of oxygen during birth, leaving him with cerebral palsy. In addition, autism and severe anxiety create additional challenges that are debilitating. Canine Companions client Hayden Shock, who’s partnered with Hearing Dog Abby, has been named 2025 NFL Pittsburgh Steelers Fan of the Year! Now, the next step for Hayden is to snag the title of the 2025 NFL Fan of the Year.

Last month, our therapy dog staff attended the annual International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) Expo in Orlando, Florida, where they provided a session covering service dog rights and public access in the amusement industry. Our therapy dogs also provided cuddles and kisses to those who needed them.
