Canine Companions opened the Puget Sound Field Office in Seattle, Washington, last month. The new office will be staffed with service dog trainers, a canine wellness coordinator and philanthropy and marketing staff members! Located in the SODO district, it is an extension of the Northwest Region, based in Santa Rosa, California. Serving as an addition to the already established six regional training centers, the new location will allow better support to our existing clients and volunteers, grow our community to expand impact in the Seattle area, as well as match more expertly trained service dogs with those in need.
Kathy Schneider is a U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force veteran who spent 30 years on and off active duty as an embedded combat nurse. Lauren Anderson is partially paralyzed in both arms due to an injury at birth. Two Canine Companions graduates with two different stories, but one thing in common: both re-entering the world with renewed hope and enhanced independence.
