September is National Service Dog Month! Whether you are familiar with what to do when you encounter a service dog, or are new to the service dog world, it’s a good idea to brush up on service dog etiquette. It’s always important to respect a service dog and the handler’s space and start a conversation with the handler to learn more. Watch our new video that illustrates etiquette examples to better understand the role of service dogs for people with disabilities.
Does your heart melt when you see one of our puppies? You have until September 30 to sponsor a puppy (or puppies) to help them become future canine heroes! In return, you will receive a welcome kit, exclusive follow-up stories, a birthday card and other surprises throughout the year from your puppy! You can even gift a sponsorship, too.
Bring your pups, pets and partners to celebrate another season of DogFest events happening across the country! Celebrate the human-canine bond, and enjoy the festivities, like games, food trucks and more, all to support the mission of Canine Companions. Get your fundraising started for DogFest, too.
Wear blue and yellow all month to represent Canine Companions! By wearing these colors, you are supporting our mission and the people with disabilities whose lives are enhanced with independence—all because of our service dogs. Make sure to add them to your outfit rotation today!
