Westhampton Beach Middle School Welcomes Canine Companions Dog ‘Oric’!

Two years ago, while working as a therapist at Camp Good Grief— a summer camp for kids dealing with the loss of a loved one, hosted at Camp Pa-Qua-Tuck in Center Moriches — Kate Swezey learned about Canine Companions. Kate, a social worker at Westhampton Beach Middle School in New York, decided to look into the facility dog program. And before long, she was filling out an application for a facility dog, after getting the green light from Principal Charisse Miller and Superintendent of Schools Carolyn Probst.
