“Canine Companions canine cognition research is assisting in determining what makes a great service dog to assist a person with a disability,” says Dr. Brenda Kennedy, Canine Companions VP Health & Research. “What we’re learning with these studies is how dogs think, problem solve, react to new situations, and control their impulses, which all helps us determine the key skills a dog needs to become a great service dog and how to set a puppy up for success through both nature and nurture.”

Inside the Mind of a Dog is produced by Emmy Award-winning Red Rock Films, creators of the fan-favorite “Inside the Mind of a Cat” and directed by Andy Mitchell.
