Eukanuba Advances Canine Nutritional Science
For more than 30 years, Canine Companions and Eukanuba™* have been dedicated to our mutual commitment to provide the very best nutrition to our dogs through all stages of life. Together we’ve developed an understanding of the relationship between nutrition, cognition and longevity in Canine Companions puppies and service dogs. We’ve partnered to increase awareness of volunteer puppy raising and our mission to provide service dogs to people with disabilities.
As the national strategic partner of Canine Companions, Eukanuba* has sponsored several puppies over the years, including Ember from the Extraordinary E Litter. Eukanuba™ followed Ember’s journey to become a service dog and were delighted to hear that this gentle giant found his calling as a service dog for Shakti, who has multiple sclerosis. “I can count on Ember to help me and be by my side wherever I go,” Shakti says. “This is such an amazing thing to happen for me.”
Baylor Scott & White Health Enhances Independence
Baylor Scott & White Health continually looks for innovative ways to achieve its mission, which includes providing people with access to personalized health and wellness resources. One life-changing resource for many with a disability is a service dog. Through a collaborative effort between Canine Companions and Baylor Scott & White Health, a dog training center was built in Texas. Canine Companions’ Baylor Scott & White Health – Kinkeade Campus opened in 2015 and is the first service dog training facility in the nation to be connected to a health care system. The formation of a campus in Texas and the relationship with Baylor Scott & White Health is essential in continuing Canine Companions’ mission of innovation and advocacy for increased independence, self-esteem and inclusion for people with disabilities.
