Welcome WFLA puppy and the M litter!

Get ready Tampa Bay! Canine Companions^® puppy Max is coming to a news station near you. Tampa Bay’s WFLA News Channel 8 will be following Max on his journey to one day become a Canine Companions assistance dog for a child, adult or veteran with a disability.

Max is a Labrador/golden retriever cross. He is very excited to learn and grow with his volunteer puppy raiser. Max will be on WFLA on a regular basis over the next 18 months as he learns new commands, makes new friends, attends events and grows. Max was named after WFLA’s powerful weather radar called Max Defender 8.

The puppy cam will be live on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, November 1-17 between the following hours:

November 7, 8:30-11:00 a.m. and 7:30-9:30 p.m. ET
November 8, 9-11 a.m. and 7:30-9:30 p.m. ET
November 9, 9-2 p.m. ET
November 10, 9-2 p.m. ET
November 14, 8:30-11 a.m. and 8:30-9:30 p.m. ET
November 15, 9-11 a.m. and 8:30-9:30 p.m. ET
