FPC Bryan sponsors ACCESS (Assisting Canine Companions by Enhancing Service Skills) Program. The ACCESS program collaborates with Canine Companions for Independence (CCI) providing the puppies with a safe environment, to enhance socialization opportunities and foster manners and obedience training vital to the development as an assistance dog. Currently, FPC Bryan houses 8 puppies that are housed with two “puppy raisers” for 18 months. Upon completion of this initial phase, the selected dogs return to CCI for professional training. If the dogs successfully complete both phases of training, they are placed in a disabled person’s home free of charge. FPC Bryan is honored to assist in carrying out the mission of Canine Companions.
