A certified sustainable, family-owned winery producing award-winning wines in Sonoma County, CA, St. Francis Winery & Vineyards honors its namesake, St. Francis of Assisi (the patron saint of animals and the environment) by supporting respected animal charities such as Canine Companions. The winery is proud to partner with Canine Companions in its mission to provide professionally trained service dogs to those who need them most.

“Partnership between Canine Companions and St. Francis Winery and Vineyards is a natural fit,” says Paige Mazzoni, Canine Companions CEO. “St. Francis is the patron saint of animals, and the winery that bears his name will have a significant impact on our clients through life-changing service dogs. We are truly grateful that St. Francis Winery and Vineyards is raising awareness and financial support for our mission. This partnership will impact the lives of many people with disabilities by ensuring we can provide them service dogs to open up new opportunities for them.”

Canine Companions breeds, raises, and trains service dogs and provides a lifetime of follow-up services, completely free of charge to adults, children, and veterans with disabilities. Their dogs are trained to perform practical tasks that enhance independence and reduce reliance on others, such as alerting people to important sounds, aiding veterans with traumatic brain injury and PTSD, and easing trauma victims during stressful police investigations. This powerful relationship between human and dog leads to increased independence, confidence, and inclusion for a person with a disability.
