The Florida East Coast Volunteer Chapter of Canine Companions encompasses Brevard and Indian River counties. Our mission is to support Canine Companions through fundraising and community awareness.
Did you know?
With an economy strongly influenced by the John F. Kennedy Space Center, Brevard County is also known as the Space Coast. As such, it was designated with the telephone area code 321, as in “3, 2, 1 liftoff”.
Those who have discovered Indian River County know that it’s got everything – stunning beaches, never-ending activities, delicious eats, and the friendliest residents. Indian River County was named after the Indian River Lagoon that runs along the eastern side of the county.
Florida East Coast chapter members include graduates, volunteers, puppy raisers and donors who are enthusiastic about the mission of Canine Companions – providing expertly trained service dogs for people with disabilities, free of charge.
Volunteer chapters raise awareness, recruit new puppy raisers and volunteers, and support one another’s work on behalf of the mission in many ways. They are lively networks filled with opportunities for social engagement, from puppy classes to fundraisers. Beyond the satisfaction of doing good work for a good cause, lifelong friendships are often formed among chapter members.
