The Sierra Foothills Volunteer Chapter of Canine Companions® consists of volunteers, puppy raisers and graduate teams from Yuba County, California. Our mission is to support Canine Companions through fundraising and community awareness.

Members of the Vail Valley Chapter help spread awareness about the need for puppy raisers as part of the 2026 GoPro Mountain Games, June 4-7.
Paul Defendini is a volunteer puppy raiser and advocate for service dogs in schools, and on June 25 at Leonard’s Palazzo in Great Neck, Canine Companions will honor Defendini at the organization’s largest fundraiser in the region — Sit. Stay. Sparkle! Northeast.
