ABOUT
Welcome to the Central Florida Chapter of Canine Companions. We are committed to empowering people with disabilities by providing expertly trained service dogs to adults, children, and veterans at no cost.
Our chapter includes graduates, volunteers, puppy raisers, and donors, who are the driving force behind our mission and help Canine Companions lead with independence in Orlando and beyond.
Volunteer Opportunities with the Central Florida Chapter
Join our community of volunteers dedicated to positively impacting the lives of individuals with disabilities. Here are some ways you can support Canine Companions regional training centers:
- Assist with data entry, front desk duties, and general office tasks
- Act as a campus docent, engage members and organize fundraisers
- Provide care as a dog bather, walker, or foster sitter
- Become a puppy raiser
- Volunteer for event support, facility maintenance, and other vital roles
- Community outreach and chapter leader and operations
Support DogFest
Our organization hosts DogFest events to raise funds that support Canine Companions’ mission of providing service dogs free of charge to people with disabilities. In the past, we’ve raised up to $95,000 at a single festival thanks to the generosity of our volunteers and attendees.

2023 August National Graduation Day – New Canine Companions Service Dogs to Graduate
July 17, 2023
On Friday, August 11, 2023, more Labrador and Golden Retriever crosses will graduate to start their destined careers as service dogs. Graduation ceremonies are held at each of our six regions across the country – in California, Florida, New York, Ohio and Texas.
