Volunteer puppy raisers provide Canine Companions puppies a safe home, take them to puppy classes, serve up a healthy diet, provide socialization opportunities and give lots of love. Each hour spent caring for a Canine Companions puppy is vital to its development as a future service dog.

Volunteer fosters play a pivotal role in a Canine Companions service dog’s journey, by opening their hearts and their homes to the dogs in professional training at our Puget Sound Field Office.
Providing transportation to and from our field office in Seattle, volunteer fosters allow the dogs to be expertly trained by our instructors, while housing and caring for the dogs during the evenings and weekends.
Our mission to provide highly trained service dogs to people with disabilities FREE of charge is possible thanks to the generous gifts of our donors. You can make a monthly or one-time gift.
Our service dogs are partnered with adults, children and veterans to assist with daily tasks and increase independence. We unite people with dogs in a powerful program that leads to greater independence and confidence.
