Riverhead, NY – Riverhead Veterinarian Dr. Robin Jaeger, DVM, DABVP has been honored for her volunteer efforts by local assistance dog organization Canine Companions for Independence. Canine Companions Northeast Region Executive Director Debra Dougherty says, “Dr. Jaeger has provided veterinary care for all graduating assistance dogs at the Northeast Region Miller Family campus in Medford since 2017.”
“Dr. Jaeger’s quarterly visits include an examination of each and every one of these highly trained dogs prior to their completion of our professional training program. Dr. Jaeger also hosts workshops for Canine Companions assistance dog teams, and volunteers to evaluate and resolve various medical issues with our dogs. We appreciate her dedication and service to our organization that helps children, adults and veterans with disabilities at no cost.”
Dr. Jaeger is also caregiver to many Canine Companions employee dogs, puppies and working assistance dogs, at a discounted rate. Dr. Robin Jaeger completed her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine with high honors from the University of Florida in 2001. After fulfilling an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston, MA, she accepted a position at East End Veterinary Center in 2002 and has been an integral part of the emergency department ever since.
She is a Diplomat of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Canine and Feline Medicine and Surgery, is a certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner, a published researcher, is knowledgeable in traditional Chinese veterinary medicine and is a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist.
