Canine Companions Opens New North Central Campus in New Albany, OH

On Thursday, October 8, Canine Companions cut the ribbon to their new North Central Campus in New Albany, OH. To ensure the safety of the Canine Companions family grand opening was hosted virtually with north central staff and a few members of leadership on site for this historic day. This new state-of-the-art campus is paving the way for the future of Canine Companions. It will allow us to further our mission by placing more dogs with their perfect match, as well as increase the types of placements that are able to be made in the North Central region. Currently this region doesn’t train hearing dogs or dogs to work with veterans with PTSD. This campus will allow those training programs to eventually expand to this region and serve more people.

For the first time in over thirty years, the North Central Region will be able to offer its students free on site guest rooms while going through team training. This means that the ability to finance a two week hotel stay will no longer be stand in the way of a person being paired with an amazing service dog. With 16 accessible guest rooms this campus will allow everyone to stay comfortably in a space designed just for them.

Not only does this campus mean that we will be able to serve more people with disabilities, but also allows us to engage the community and creates a centrally located hub for the Canine Companions family around the community.
