College Student Puppy Raiser’s Legacy Lives On
WSU junior Shannon Prendergast was killed in car accident in 2017, but the future service dog she was raising for Canine Companions survived the terrible crash. That puppy, Lottie, now works with Shannon’s mom at an elementary school in Woodinville, Wash. In Shannon’s memory, students at Washington State University formed Prendergast Pups, a club that has now raised 11 future service dogs on campus.
