Welcome to the South Florida Chapter Website. Our chapter serves the East coast of South Florida. Our membership includes graduates, volunteers, puppy raisers and donors, who are all enthusiastic about supporting the mission of Canine Companions – providing highly trained assistance dogs for people with disabilities, free of charge.

If you’re looking for deeper engagement as a Canine Companions volunteer, we encourage you to get involved with our chapter. The South Florida Chapter is an extension of the Southeast Region, located in Orlando, FL. We work to raise awareness, raise funds recruit new puppy raisers and volunteers and support one another’s work on behalf of the Canine Companions’ mission.
We are a lively network filled with opportunities for social engagement, from puppy classes to fundraisers. Beyond the satisfaction of doing good work for Canine Companions, lifelong friendships are often formed among chapter members. If you are interested in working with our chapter, contact us. Airplane full of puppies lands in Connecticut; pups to begin new lives assisting people with disabilities
January 29, 2021
A small private airplane landed at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks on Wednesday night, and delivered sweetness, joy and hope to nine families waiting on the tarmac.
Nine 8-week-old puppies, which were flown from California, were carried off the plane one by one and handed over to the people who will begin their training to become assistance dogs for people with disabilities.
