Southeast Region
The Emerald Coast Volunteer Chapter of Canine Companions encompasses the Florida Panhandle, surrounding areas, Alabama and Mississippi.
Chapter members include graduates, volunteers, puppy raisers and donors who are enthusiastic about support the mission of Canine Companions – providing expertly trained service dogs for people with disabilities, free of charge.
Volunteer chapters raise awareness, recruit new puppy raisers and volunteers, and support one another’s work on behalf of the mission in many ways. We are a lively network filled with opportunities for social engagement, from puppy classes to fundraisers. Beyond the satisfaction of doing good work for a good cause, lifelong friendships are often formed among chapter members.

A global shortage of volunteers to care for puppies and dogs in training could severely impact the lives of people with disabilities, according to Assistance Dogs International (ADI). Canine Companions, a founding member of ADI, is recruiting more volunteer puppy raisers to help serve the growing number of individuals with disabilities.
