The Emerald Coast Volunteer Chapter of Canine Companions encompasses the Florida Panhandle, surrounding areas, Alabama and Mississippi.
Chapter members include graduates, volunteers, puppy raisers and donors who are enthusiastic about support the mission of Canine Companions – providing expertly trained service dogs for people with disabilities, free of charge.

Volunteer chapters raise awareness, recruit new puppy raisers and volunteers, and support one another’s work on behalf of the mission in many ways. We are a lively network filled with opportunities for social engagement, from puppy classes to fundraisers. Beyond the satisfaction of doing good work for a good cause, lifelong friendships are often formed among chapter members.

Empowering People With Disabilities Over 7,000 Times

As the first provider of service dogs in the nation, Canine Companions has been enhancing the independence of people with disabilities for nearly 46 years. The novelty of such work never wears off. After all, the impact of a transformative partnership between human and canine is unique and special no matter how many times it’s done – and Canine Companions has created a lot of perfect matches.
